Mary Grant
Mary founded Lumos Law (formerly Grant Law Group) in 2009 after spending five years at Yahoo! in both legal and business roles. Mary’s last role at Yahoo! was as Vice President of Business Development, negotiating deals with some of Yahoo!’s largest partners and managing Yahoo!’s relationship with Google. Prior to that, Mary was the Associate General Counsel responsible for legal support of all of Yahoo!’s monetization and advertising businesses and she was the last General Counsel of Overture Services Inc. Before Yahoo!, Mary was in-house counsel at Lucent Technologies for six years, where she was the chief attorney to the sales team for Lucent’s largest customer, negotiated a record-breaking $5 Billion wireless equipment deal, and provided support for Lucent’s in-house incubator and venture fund.
Mary started life as a lawyer as a litigation associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, after clerking for the Honorable W. Eugene Davis of the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mary holds a JD from the University of Chicago and a BA in Political Science from California Polytechnic State University.
